SLT FIBER Users with 5GHz Routers 🆘

  • SLT FIBER Users with 5GHz Routers 🆘

I’ve been using the ZTE F660 router for over 5 years, and it's been running smoothly without any issues. Now that all my equipment supports 5GHz, I’m interested in upgrading to a router that supports the 5GHz band.

I noticed that @Hyaenidae recently upgraded by visiting the regional office. If anyone else has successfully upgraded to a 5GHz router for FREE through SLT, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience. Could you share which router model you received and the steps you took to get the upgrade?

Additionally, I’m curious about the routers provided to new SLT FIBER customers. Are they dual-band (2.4GHz/5GHz)? Which brand, and are there any known issues?

I'd also appreciate any insights into what I should consider during the router upgrade process.

On another note, since the day we first got the connection, I haven’t been able to recall the password for the connection. I believe the username is something like "94xxxxxxxxx@sltbb." If I get a new router, how can I retrieve the password, or is it possible to reset it by contacting SLT?

Thanks in advance for your help!

They don't just give you the router, a maintenance team will visit your place and set the new router up themselves. You don't have to retrieve the SLT password, they do it for you - you can change the WiFi and router access passwords afterwards
