WIN 2008 active directory, exchange 2007, isa 2007.....we ar planning to migrate total infrastructure to open source platform.....as a 1st we want to transfer 600 users and 800 computers to the open source platform....any idea for that????? which distro and which approach should i use ?????????? this place is a 24*7 working environment........

what services on AD ? If its just username & email box, you can use any linux distribution and go ahead. If you are using group policies for software restrictions like feature restrictions in outlook, windows, Internet explorer, you'll have to re think your strategy and also use a commercial Linux version like RedHat or SuSE.

Im using CentOS. It's god for servers as well as good alternative for RHEL.

I wouldnt call it god for servers as CentOS is severely behind in software versions.
Fedora is the ultimate alternative for RHEL. After playing with openSuSE, I'm impressed with it a lot as well. YAST is an invaluable tool for configuring the system and services.

try DeVeDe. Its a GUI based DVD creator that can take source video from any of those formats.

Both are coming same arch. But the thing is if you use Fedora as Server, consider about supporting life cycle. It hasn't long term support

fedora has long term support. About the same as Redhat and CentOS. Atleast Fedora get all the latest updates. CentOS takes ages to update any software. Postfix is still at 2.3 when current stable is at 2.7
