8th version of Windows was designed even before Windows 7 was launched. That means in January 2002. Because of the separate groups which are appointed to develop different different operating systems by Microsoft, things has been very easy. Normally, Microsoft has followed a culture of releasing an operating system after three years of releasing the last OS. So the next Windows OS (8th version of windows) is to be released in 2012.

A roadmap slide of Microsoft Corporation was unofficially released by Italian Microsoft Corporation. It states that there is a major release in 2012. It is a server operating system, code name Windows 8. At the same time the Desktop Operating System also is the 8th version of Windows.

After Windows 1.0 was released in 1985, 12 versions of Windows has been released up to now. But technically, they belongs to seven basic versions. Normally Microsoft give
s three names for their operating systems. They are Code Name, Product Number and the Official Brand. Up to now Microsoft has followed many ways of giving names. At first they gave names by the version number like Windows 3.1, 3.5, etc. Then they were named according to their released years like Windows 95, 98, 2000. Then they started to name the OSs which are easily pronounceable like, Windows XP, Windows Vista. But after that they changed the system of naming. In 2008, when the product name of Windows 7 was released, they said that their next OS is going to be Windows 8.

Still there is no news about how advanced is Windows 8 is from Windows 7. Still
the news is coming from unofficial blogs and some involved people only. From these, the most informative news came from a not from LinkedIn Profile of a worker of Microsoft called Robert Merdon. It stated that Windows 8 will be launched 64 and 128 bit releases without 32 bit release. The first OS which will be having 128 bit will be Windows 8.

According to the interface, Windows 7 was exactly same as Windows Vista. But Windows 8 will contain a totally different interface from Windows 7. The loading of Windows Vista was slow. But Windows 7 has reduced that time of loading. But Windows 8 has even more reduced the loading time. Because Windows 7 has reduced many problems in Windows Vista, it is considered as the best Operating System. It is a OS which has the touch screen facility. This feature is more developed in Windows 8.

Unofficial sources say that Windows 8 will be called 'The Operating System which touches the future'. That means, Windows 8 will be released not only suitable for the technical advancements in the next two years, but for the technical advancements in next five years too.

This article was written by me for my blog.... i thought i should share it with you also.... ;);)

Thx for commenting bro... But i think that the User Interface of win vista is much more similar to win 7.... nd also the internal version number of Vista is Windows 6.0 nd Windows 7 is Windows 6.1 So i don't think there's much difference between those two OSs. But take for example Win XP and Vista... they are completely different Win XP is Windows 5.0 nd Win Vista is WIndows 6.0 very big difference!!

well bro, im nt sure if uve used Win Vista n Win 7... coz u dont seem to recognize da changes.. ive used them n i still use them.. its Vista at office n 7 at home for me.. n i know how much i struggle between the two due to certain changes n stuff... im nt saying ur completely wrong.. its dat vista n 7 r nt da same.. vista was a complete failiure.. but 7 is a resounding success.. WHY?? becoz its different.. u think n e one wud buy 7 after buying vista if its da same??? no ryt??:no::no::no:

so dats da point im trying to make in here.. 7 is different.. its lyk this.. hav u used win 95, 98, 2000, ME? well ive used all dat.. n also XP, Vista n nw 7.. 96, 98 n 2000 da UI looks da same... but there is a big difference in the performance n other stuff... take XP.. u can make XP look lyk 98 or 2000 or ME in the UI.. but the stuff u can do in XP u cant do in those old version can u??

also MS themselves have said that the Windows Shell of 7 has been changed.. n u probably know wat Windows Shell is... in addition many other features which are nt available in Vista.. only the Windows Aero UI has been retained from Vista but that too with many new additions in 7 like Shake, Dock n stuff... also there are new file systems in 7 like the Virtual Hard Drive n Locking or protection facilities to drives n better user management, device management... n da list goes on... if u want to know, jst do a google, coz da ones ive mentioned here r da ones dat i know of personally as i work with them... but there probably is more...

bro... i am using both OSs on my PC... and i'm not telling that Vista is better than 7... it's obvious that 7 is better than Vista..... I know that there are many advancements in WIndows 7 compared to Vista.... But i dont agree with the statement that Windows 7 is a completely new OS after Win Vista.... nd also i said before it's version code is also 6.1 where Vista is Windows 6.0 These Version codes are given by microsoft... not by me.... So even microsoft has agreed with my statement.... These version codes explain that Windows 7 is an advanced version of Vista.... But other OSs are not like that... Coz we cannot say that Windows Vista is an advanced version of XP..... And i also know that the Aero UI is also changed in Windows 7 with new additions... but you must understand that Windows 7 doesn't have a whole new UI... it has a advanced Aero UI... nd Aero UI was introduced in Vista which was a completely different UI from the UI of XP... I see that you have mentioned many things in Windows 7.... I only say that those are only more advanced features of Vista... only some of them are newly introduced with 7.... and bro.. im not saying that Vista nd 7 are same.. i'm telling that they both are slightly different.. not completely.... ok... ithink you got it.... nd thx for replying...

Refer to this article also for the speed differences of Vista and 7.. then you will understand more...
