OK, CIMA is not a walk in the park. I agree fully. That is exactly why there is a demand for people who have gone through that grueling path.
CIMA also knows that the demand for their qualification is because only a handful get through the exams. That is why they keep increasing the difficulty with each syllabus revision. This is obvious when comparing papers before May 2007 with the current papers. Also the exam structure for the managerial level was made tougher with a very limited number of choices of questions (that is, most questions are compulsory), and only a small number of MCQs in the latest syllabus revision.
However, the point is that you don't need to be a nerd/poth gulla to get through CIMA. It is possible with a little bit of effort. The sad thing is most of the people who do not get through do not put that little bit of effort required on their part.
People at universities do it part time. Most of the guys I know in my uni study seriously only in the last 2 weeks leading up to the exams. They still get through.
If we can do it part time, surely you can do it full time. It's just 50 marks for crying out loud.
CIMA is not rocket science, but there still will be people who will find it hard to get through. To those people I say, just drop it. There are other things that you can do with your life.
