USIM Broadband Modem .. Does they work in sri lanka?

Hi guys,

i just got a broadband modem huawei e1550 which it has a 3 logo

that means its from abroad and it had some problems which is the the data driver mobile partner software is corrupted now it has been figured out by me..

now the problem is when i install the mobile partner n drivers .. it wont respond to 64k normal sim cards , it only works with 128k USIM cards .. this is the first time i have seen a USIM broadband modem .. now i wanna know can i break the code or something OR can i convert it to work with a 64k sim cards?? will it be possible .. when i google it i did not get any clear solutions..
