First of all that was a suggestion not a claim
and second u say that its impossible to translation to be better than originals ? Chances are odd but not impossible I think

By the very nature of translations, its impossible for a translated work to be better than the original. If its made to be better than the original, then its no longer a translation but a whole new story.

besides, lets face it most sinhala translations, Jurassic Park being the rare exception sucked big time. then again i never read the original.

I've read all of his translations and some of the originals...I didn't notice anything additional though. those brits speak the language the way its supposed to be spoken, who'd wanna miss that.

and I've read K.G karunarathna's translation of Hound baskerville...and I'd say that it felt more complete than mendis' version.

I used to have an old translation of some sherlock holmes stories ..that one mentioned about holmes doing drugs though translater was david karunathilaka or something.

Star Trek II : Wrath of Khan

Arguably the best Star Trek movie from the original franchise. The character interaction is great and considering its a limited budget movie, the special effects weren’t all that bad but the movie was great even when you disregard the effects as it has a really good story and well played characters.
