Pitiduwe Thero continues to harass the neighbourhood, The damaged wall and The room filled with sand after the monk released rain water through the wall
Ven. Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero of Siri Sadaham Ashramaya Bellantara continues to harass the neighbourhood allegedly with the blessings of the Boralesgamuwa Police, residents complain.
The latest harassment meted out by Pitiduwe Thero was against M.A. Pushpalatha, a single parent living on the land adjacent to the Ashramaya.
According to Pushpalatha, part of her boundary wall which also happens to be one of the walls of her house was broken down by the Thero on Wednesday night during the torrential rains that lashed across the city and its suburbs. The monk, she charges, had done so to drain away the rain water that had collected in the temple premises.According to Pushpalatha, part of her boundary wall which also happens to be one of the walls of her house was broken down by the Thero on Wednesday night during the torrential rains that lashed across the city and its suburbs. The monk, she charges, had done so to drain away the rain water that had collected in the temple premises.
“It was around 8pm on Wednesday, November 10 when all this happened. It was raining heavily and one of my tenants came and told me that somebody was trying to break the wall of his room. When we went to the room we all heard the Thero instructing his men to make a big hole in the wall. We very clearly heard him saying ‘Tappe loku hilak hadanna wathura ikmanata bahinna’ (make a big hole in the wall immediately to draw away the rain water),” Pushpalatha told The Sunday Leader.
She complained bitterly that despite several requests made by her children, herself and her tenants to the people on the other side not to break the wall, the ‘hamuduruwo’ remained adamant and ordered his men to carry out his instructions.
“It took only minutes for them to make a big outlet in my wall and my entire house was flooded within seconds as a result of the temple water,” Pushpalatha said.
