LOTR seriously lacks character development. Only Boromir had any real realistic characteristics and he gets killed off half way in LOTR 1. Everyone else was either completely good or completely bad.
Its got good CGI and enjoyable but its certainly not high cinema.

PPl have different views kosadndpol u agree?
i have no problem with of u r good movie taste...but i consider LOTR is very good cinema...

I also have friends(not in this thread) who are watching movies regularly ..some are action movie lovers some are arthouse oriented, some are bergman, kubrick fans no one has ever said LOTR is not that good until i found an exception u and mr twist:)

I'm not saying LOTR is bad. Just that its overrated. Pretty much like Inception.

are u a LOTR fan? is it that good to be rated close to a 9?
i've never been a fan of those big fantasy movies.. narnia, jack sparrow, harry potter etc.. so i was never bothered to watch any of the LOTR movies. should give it a try sometime..

screw LOTR watch some dark fantasy ..like pan's labrynth, brazil, the city of the lost children....:)
