"What is the best laptop" this is too open question need more clarifications. Are you referring to best gaming laptop or best professional work laptop? If it is gaming I think what I've heard Asus is really making good progress despite Alienware. Unfortunatley Alienware is loosing it's name after the acquisition from Dell.

If it is professional work level laptop then personally I prefer IBM Levnao W510 model. Planning to get this model with 16GB memory for my day to day work
