This is not true, airbags will deploy based on the side of impact, it has nothing to do with whether or not you wear seatbelts or whether someone is sitting in that seat. if u don't wear the seat belt and let the air bag to protect you. it would be your end cause without the seat belt airbag just cracks your neck.
