Hello, all.

I'm an American, who teaches English in Japan, who wants to visit Sri Lanka.

I've been reading a little bit about it, about Colombo, Hiddakuwa, Kandy, Mirissa, and such. Looks like a great place.

I've also assumed that Sri Lankans were like Indians...quite conservative, don't drink, etc. But, it looks like it is possible to get a beer, and socialize and such as well. Although, my impression is that that probably isn't very popular or common though.

Been studying that cricket is popular (sadly I don't know much about it!). Also, read that there seem to be a lot of Colombo Fashion Shows...although don't know if that is something that is just popular on the internet only. Who knows.

Anyways, just joined the forum, and hope to learn a lot more about Sri Lanka!!

Welcome ...Visit this Country U Will feel Great!!! Lots things to watch out...Basically the best Island...You have Wonderful Beaches,Clubs,Casinos and Some Sacred Places...And a lots of Historic Places...You will find useful if u visit....If u need more abt Sri Lanka..Feel free to ask in this forum

Enjoy your stay...Sri Lanka is home for dozens of historical sites such as the world famous Sigiriya...Plus, Sri Lanka also shelteres thousands of wildlife species....(Sri Lanka is named a bio-diversity hotspot)
