Hey everyone, I’d like to get some opinions from experts and vehicle owners here…

These days I’m working on a small research project. The idea is this: as you know, brake pads wear out over time in vehicles. So I’m thinking of developing a new braking system by combining an eddy current braking system with a mechanical braking system.

With this approach, it might be possible to significantly extend the lifetime of brake pads.

What do you all think about this idea?

Why we cannot use 4 motors instead, controlled by specialized module or a program. Yeah most of you guys willsay idiotic idea..

It will make the car’s braking system more complex and expensive to build and maintain. A normal mechanic guy won't be able to repair it.

I think it won't compete with conventional braking systems. By the way what did you mean by eddy current ? 🤷‍♂️ Is it a kind of electromagnetic field applied to a spinning part to reduce speed ?

U mean regenetive brakes or something in EV.

Also search on dynamic brakes in locomotives. U may find info regarding ur research.

An eddy current brake is a non-contact braking system. Unlike regenerative braking, which may not function when the battery is full or cold, this system works continuously under all conditions.

    Waste of time

Breaking systems should easily rrepairable and cost effective.
