Above report is totally rubbish. 100% there's no doubt. This is some imagined story of a crappy website.
But that aside, English does have its merit in many aspects of life.

It's still a fiercely fought for, yet miserably failed, subject. Those who know the language still have an advantage but that's not the important thing. It's what those who don't know the language do

Listen up then and tell me if I'm wrong:
A majority of those who are at higher ranks of the society but no English, they burn inside from the desire to speak it. But the middle and upper middle classes are even funnier. They criticise English being a "class deciding" language in Sri Lanka, and show you Japan and China as examples. And then send their kids to English classes, and fight tooth and nail to put their kids in the English medium classes at school.

I am not insulting anyone. I am calling out the hypocrisy. I don't mean to hurt anyone, but I just want you to be true to your own hearts.
