This is wrong . Either Prof Sunil nor late Nanda M have copyright to prevent others singing similar or changed versions. But music Director has copyright for original songs (again not the writer or singer). But is one is using original songs for commercial events or similar events (eg Political rallies etc) that can only be done subject to payment of royalty. This again cannot be prohibited.
