I see. However, you appear rather hesitated when "Aethist" said ""Nibbana/ Nirvana" is still not scientifically proven". Didn't you? So, you are adopting Buddhist meditation as a means of comforting yourself, and as a means of improving your concentration. Not only you! But also your Muslim...

I don't agree with the last part of your post. Popularity of any religion says nothing about the validity of a religion.

Labeling nibbana as a "personal experience" is not going to help. It can not be used as an evidence to prove Buddhism either. For one thing, one can use this same paragraph and replace the word "nibbana" with things like "union with Jesus", "knowing God", "union with God", "love of God"...

RE: Lord Buddha's arguments against GOD

I am not talking about free economy. God did not take free-will in his right hand, and determinism in his left hand and asked us "Son, please choose whatever you like" Did he?? According to you,God has given us free-will, so we have to live with free-will even we don't like to live with...

    [Splited] Free-will

GOD: I know, that sounds sort of blasphemous, doesn’t it? It almost involves a logical paradox! On the one hand, as you have been taught, it is morally wrong for any sentient being to claim that I am capable of making mistakes. On the other hand, I have the right to do anything. But I am...

    [Splited] Free-will

MORTAL: Once my will is gone, how could I possibly choose to take the pill? GOD: I did not say you would choose it; I merely said you would take it. You would act, let us say according to purely deterministic laws which are such that you would as a matter of fact take it. MORTAL: I...

    [Splited] Free-will

GOD: Oh, that’s what’s bothering you! Why didn’t you say so in the first place instead of all this peripheral talk about free will and responsibility? Why didn’t you simply request me not to punish you for any of your sins? MORTAL: I think I am realistic enough to know that you would...

This is splited from Y2K's thread RE: Lord Buddha's arguments against GOD An interesting treatise about free-will... I first decided to post this as a reply in Y2K's thread. But, then changed my mind because his topic is different... Extracted from "Is God a Taoist" from Raymond M. Smullyan...

God might have given us free-will, but, if that is the case, we did not have free-will to decide whether we want free-will.:frown:
