    Another way.. If you want to make the vista sp1 permanent, then you need to run the clean up tool. It can be found in the Windows/System32 folder...look for VSP1CLN.exe and run it. It gets rid of the backup files sp1 made Be warned...you cannot uninstall sp1 if you nuke the backup files
