    C++, Basic, C, pascal, ... those languages are good for a start, i started from pascal and then did VB but vb has its own problems ..just keep your mind on win32 platform if you want to be a real programmer otherwise ...theres .NET and Java :P

But cant they make some thing that will be futile if copied? like an artist's talent the guy can sell his CDs enough for a living ...and ppl are not that bad even those crazy ass pirate's sometimes go buy records - just to support the artist...
