Well then who started to call it like that machang? Anyway totally agree with the rest of the comment :) People are trying to create or rather worsen the conflicts.. But we have to have the brains ad balls to decide what is right and what is wrong.. They report! We think and decide ;) :)

Ya machang.. Even we celebrate it.. Not as to the extend like the buddhists though. But still we also do have kawum kokis kiribath etc. :) Ya it's better if we call this as Sri Lankan new year or something :D
