    some instructors don't tell because they don't know probably becuase lack of education :nerd: , some don't care :oo:, some of them wait for you to go to them and ask because they want to show that they know everything or they are the masters :P

    If that is the case then he is doing his job to protect the machine :), but still you can use a long chain attachment & then attach the short bar/ rope at the end and work on it without harming that machine ;)

    it's not only made for squats, you can do several exercises using a smith machine but the problem with it is the plane of motion is fixed which is very bad for our body structure :baffled:
