Have they ever left cabinet ministry posts + benefits and sat in opposition to oppose actions of president?

Please keep in mind that we had a parliament with 40 JVPers and three Ministers under CBK's second GE but I cant remember these 40 MPs (including AKD, Wimal, Vijitha, etc) even asking to reduce number of cabinet to 25 or to abolish Executive Presidency though they were a constituent party to bring CBK and also MR in 2005 again. Did they request MR to abolish executive presidency or reduce no of cabinet posts. Instead at least Wimal made lot of money after 1994. So why now? Enough fooling voters .
