Arab anger boils over Donald debacle
Arab countries are now livid with the Sri Lankan government’s official position on Palestine, as Sri Lanka’s Ambassador for Israel and Former Chief of Staff Donald Perera was quoted saying Sri Lanka is a staunch supporter of Israel’s fight against Palestinian terror.
Many Arab ambassadors have called up Foreign Minister Prof.G.L.Peiris after the interview published last Wednesday in the “Yedioth Ahronoth’’ magazine in Israel.

"Sri Lanka yesterday joined nations around the world in condemning Israel’s attack on an aid flotilla on Monday. The Ministry of External Affairs in a statement said “Indiscriminate use of force to prevent the carriage of supply to people under occupation is condemned.”
It also expressed Sri Lanka’s deep regret over the loss of life and injuries resulting from the Israeli commando attack on the Freedom Flotilla that was bringing aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip which has been under siege for the past three years.“The attack has caused grave distress to the government and the people of Sri Lanka ,” the statement said.
