Do you know they intentionally kept their currency as low as that 1 yen equals 1 US penny? That strategy angered the US and instigated the US-Japan trade war. That rivalry diminished with the rise of other Asian giants. Without that western money, technology, and the market, those countries would never have developed that fast. If you want to understand what makes China superior, please compare the Indian and Chinese governments and economies. Both are very similar during the first few decades, but China rose much faster than the India. just check why that happened.
