I really should read the question fully before attempting an answer.
Maybe the fault is unique to that particular router model?

You can try and filter out the problem if you have access to 1) another computer/laptop (if the same problem occurs it is not a driver or so) 2) another router.

You recently switched to web family rite? There is a possibility that the SNR margin has a direct/indirect correlation to the issue. Maybe your router is resetting itself (a shot in the dark btw) ?

Why don't you try a different router?
