Nope, there's something called voting pattern..

In past elections, people from North and East were tended to vote candidates supported by the Muslim Congress and ITAK.

For instance, those votes went to SF in 2010, Sirisena in 2015 & Sajith in 2019 because Muslim Congress and ITAK were with them.

This time, both parties (ITAK & Muslim Congress) appear to be supporting Sajith not Ranil. So it's impossible for Ranil to win North / East
