The same thing happens in the Antarctic too. When the South Pole is pointing toward the Sun in the summer, the Sun doesn’t set. Similarly, when it is pointing away from the Sun in the winter, the Sun doesn’t rise.

The photo below was taken in the Lofoten Islands exactly a couple of minutes before midnight. I remember it because my son was fishing at that time, walking distance from the hotel we spent overnight. It was mid July, the best time to visit Norway. Plenty of fish as well. He catches them while the mother releases them back to the water.

Lofoten islands belongs to Norway and is a very beautiful place. Warm water currents in the sea keep it warm even though it's in the Arctic circle. About one and a half hour flight from Oslo. Also you can take the ferry from Bodø, but takes about 4 hours depending on the sea conditions.

Svalbard is further to the North. There are cruises from Bodø covering Lofoten, Bear Islands & Svalbard.
