කොළඹ ආනන්දයේ සහ නාලන්දයේ පාලනය මුස්ලිම්ව

ජාතික සංහිඳියාවෙන් යුතු සිසු පරපුරක් බිහි කිරීම අරමුණු කරගනිමින් අධ්‍යාපන අමාත්‍යංශය විසින් මුස්ලිම් ජාතික ගුරුවරුන් කිහිප දෙනෙකුට ලංකාවේ පැරණිම බෞද්ධ පිරිමි පාසල් ද්විත්වයක් වන කොළඹ ආනන්ද විද්‍යාලයට සහ නාලන්දා විද්‍යාලයට පත්වීම් ලබා දී ඇතැයි වාර්තා වනවා.
මිෂනාරි අධ්‍යාපන ක්‍රමයට විකල්පයක් වශයෙන් ඇරඹි කොළඹ ආනන්ද සහ නාලන්ද යන විද්‍යාලයන් දීර්ඝ කාලයක සිට මෙරට සිංහල බෞද්ධ අනන්‍යතාවය සුරකිමින් උගත් බුද්ධිමත් තරුණ පරපුරක් රටට දායක කිරීමට කටයුතු කරන ලදි.
වාර්තා වන අන්දමට ආනන්ද සහ නාලන්ද විද්‍යාලවල ගුරුවරුන් රැසකට හදිසියේම ස්ථාන මාරු ලබාදී ඇති අතර පුරප්පාඩු වන තනතුරු සඳහා කොළඹ සහිරා විද්‍යාලය ඇතුලු මුස්ලිම් පාසල් වලින් ගුරුවරුන් පත් කර තිබේ.
කෙසේ වෙතත් මෙම පත් කිරීම් වලට එරෙහිව මෙම විද්‍යාල වල විදුහල්පතිවරු, ගුරුවරු ආදි ශිෂ්‍යයින් සහ සිසුන් දැඩි විරුද්ධත්වය පළ කර ඇති අතර නුදුරේදීම මෙය ගැටුමක් දක්වා වර්ධනය විය හැකි යැයිද වාර්තා වී තිබේ.
මෙම මුස්ලිම් ගුරුවරුන්ගේ ආගමනය පිළිබඳව කොළඹ ආනන්ද විද්‍යාලයේ සිසුවෙකු සිය ෆේස්බුක් ගිණුමේ තබා තිබූ සටහනක් පහතින් දැක්වේ.

CBK Demands Minority Quota From Ananda Nalanda and Visaka: Slams Facebook Campaigns By 'Racists'

Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga said Sinhala-Buddhist schools such as Ananda and Nalanda colleges should open up a certain "quota" for ethnic and religious minorities when it comes to school admissions.

"Creating boundaries on ethnic and religious grounds is not line with the Buddhist teachings. When I was the President, I asked the Principals of these schools about the minority percentage when it came to school admissions. They did not even have proper answers. When I tried to change it, teachers and old boys took to streets. I managed to send one Muslim boy to Ananda College. However, after two years, he sought a transfer saying he was subjected to ill-treatment," the former President said, addressing a public event yesterday.

In her speech, the former President specifically referred to Ananda, Nalanda and Visakha - three prominent Buddhist schools in Colombo established over 100 years ago. Although they were initially run by Buddhist organizations, they were taken over by the government through a Parliamentary bill under the administration of former Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.

"There are some students in these schools who have never interacted with a Muslim or Tamil student. When they resort to extremism, some Tamil and Muslim schools too follow the same path. So, is it a surprise that this country had to deal with a long-drawn war? " the former President questioned.

"When I raised this matter before, those who use racism as a tactic to regain power launched a Facebook campaign against me.They even said I suggested to close down Ananda College. I must a group of foolhardy Sinhalese fell prey to that. There are foolhardy groups among Tamil and Muslim communities too," Kumaratunga asserted.

The former President, who plays a pivotal role in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, heads the Sri Lankan government's mission to strengthen ethnic and religious harmony and reconciliation.
