Popular actress Nayana Kumari and her close friend Gayathri Dias has reportedly drifted apart following the entry of a wealthy Minister from Kalutara, sources say.
Sources add that Gayathri has opposed to Nayana getting close with the said minister and her acting as his unofficial private secretary.
Nayana and Gayathri go way back, having been friends for a decade.
Gayathri, who was took part in 'Miss Sri Lanka Contest' in 1992 and won the 'Miss Photogenic' title. In 1994 and was also crowned as the first 'Sirasa Ru Rajina' beauty contest conducted by Sirasa TV and Sirasa FM.
Making her acting debut through the New Year teledrama, 'Udaara Geethaya', Gayathri had appeared in several tele dramas and films.
She is married to popular actor and producer Channa Perera in 1996 and currently owns a chain of beauty salons and the beauty product line 'Nature's Secret'.
Nayana Kumari, who took up her first role on stage as Desdemona in the play of ‘Othello’, is a popular actress renowned for her performances on stage, cinema as well as on the mini screen.
She is popular for her performances in teledramas Kastirama, Charthurya 1, Charthurya 2, Paba, Gajaman Nona, Asani Wehi and Pabalu.
She is currently married to a businessman and the couple has a son.
Nayana too, owns a beauty salon.
