With apologies to the original poster I would like add a bit to clarify a few things that he may have overlooked. Since already there are confusing replies -

You can get the Delta variant WITHOUT having loss of smell and taste. So do not arrive at the wrong conclusion that you don't have Covid because you didn't lose taste or smell. It's not the case anymore. Other symptoms as per the original post holds correct.

About the Delta & Pregnant mothers - Many pregnant mothers get admitted with the Delta without taking any vaccines. Only a very few had one dose. The severity of illness is much more with the Delta variant.
A study of pregnant mothers with Covid (any variant), spanning across 18 countries clearly showed that there's an associated low birth weight. A recent study including Delta variant in the UK showed that 1 in 5 suffered premature birth.

UK Health reports-
"The severity of women's illness appears to have become worse; 24% of women admitted in the first wave had moderate or severe disease, compared with 36% with the Alpha variant and 45% with the Delta variant."

Professor Marian Knight (Maternal Health -University of Oxford) recently notes that -

"It is extremely good news that so few vaccinated pregnant women have been admitted to hospital with COVID-19. However, it is very concerning that admissions of pregnant women to hospital with COVID-19 are increasing and that pregnant women appear to be more severely affected by the Delta variant of the disease. Around 200 pregnant women were admitted to hospital with COVID-19 last week. I cannot emphasise more strongly how important it is for pregnant women to get vaccinated in order to protect both them and their baby. Until they are vaccinated, pregnant women must continue to be extremely attentive to social distancing measures including mask wearing, 2 metre distancing and meeting outdoors where possible."

Machan can the immune response bolstered by a vaccine attenuate with time? This is something I keep coming across in certain medical literature and as per the assays they've done, antibodies peak right after the administration of a vaccine and gradually go down in the coming months. I’m talking about a short-term window here, maybe like 6 months or close to a year so we can forget about the immune system’s natural decay (right?).

I’m not in medical research so obviously lacking a lot of background information. Maybe I’m misreading something here.

Yes the antibody generated immune response goes down with time. The antibody titers will get low whether these are vaccine generated or formed by natural infection.
That's why you need a booster. But what we really need is a booster geared for the newer variants. Moderna has a booster but that doesn't really cover the Delta & Lambda. Also it's still under trial. Pfizer also has a similar one and again on trial. These were developed for the initial variants.

But our immune system also has T-cells which come to our rescue. T lymphocytes come in two broad types: CD8+ and CD4+. Vaccines induce spike specific B and T cells that stays on , but no one know for exactly how long, as patients have to be continually tested over time to find out.
As I have mentioned before T cell epitopes do not change in any variant. Basically when the antibody levels decline the T-cells provide us with protection against severe illness and death. There was an earlier post on T-cells.
