This another model of Boeing with some bad record . Once subject to law suit by an employee who alleged the company , for using low quality material for fuselage, but Boeing won the case ! But there were cracks reported in some . So this could be due to defect in the plane too. But most cases are pilot errors! To Err is human, but these are errors or faults due to Corporate Greed! Who said competition always give better result. This Duopoly had resulted many lives lost!!

Each country have its rules regarding CVR due to its sensitivity of data. So privacy and protection of that is paramount. From the live pictures recorded experts say that it could be anything from sabotage , to breaking of back part of fuselage! FDR is technical and cannot be subjected to privacy issues so may be accessible , but without necessary knowledge may not understand unlike CVR which records voices . These are tools for investigations including insurance claims. So China may not have final say as re-insurers may be at Lloyds!

There was an issue with the wiring harness of some of the 737s... The Horizontal Stabilizer could damage some wiring but it was an easy fix. Also much earlier there was another issue with the corrosive coating on pins used to attach the 737s' horizontal stabiliser. All these were addressed.
