හිටපු මුදල් ඇමති අලි සබ්රි මහතාගෙන් නැවතත් එම ධූරය භාර ගන්නැයි ජනාධිපතිවරයා ඉල්ලා ඇතත් පවුලේ විරෝධය මත ඔහු එය භාරගැනීම ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කර තිබේ.

I thought that MOF at this juncture needs to be a a person who is well versed in the area as there is little time to go through learning curve as the country is on the verge of bankrupt and some quick and correct action is needed , not words and sentiment which are short lived.

The Finance Minister post doesn't require on-the-spot decisions or quick appraisals on an urgent matter, like a finance manager's post The Finance Minister has sufficient time to consult his team over any decision and could always study things.
By the way, Sri Lanka has had it's share of "non-financial" people as Finance Minister - from the path-breaking Ronnie de Mel to others like Chandrika and Mahinda. We also had crooks such as Ravi K. who was a fully qualified accountant!
