US President Joe Biden withdraws from the presidential race, saying it's "in the best interest of my party and the country" - but will stay on for the final six months of his term

He endorses Kamala Harris, his vice-president, to be the new Democratic nominee

Harris says she intends to "earn and win" the nomination and do "everything in my power to... unite our nation to defeat Donald Trump"

Think about that: This woman became the VP and now she will contest the presidential election. Could such a thing happen here in Sri Lanka? And when people ask what problems those minorities have, majority would say that minorities have everything while boosting about the equality and tolerance, but we minorities never had or never will have such a chance. But in the USA, India, and UK, you can even become the premier.

If it needs to happen will hapen naturally, can't force it, and shouldn't. Do we talk about how female rulers coquered the world, how they've built empires? There'll be some. But exceptions don't disprove the rule

She inherited it. Just like all other South Asian leaders, Benazir Bhutto, Sheik Hasina, Ms. Bandaranayke inherited the premiership.

I agree that it should come within, naturally. But there are no minority leaders in any major party; why is that? Why is it hard to become prominent leaders in those parties? The reason is that the majority, the Singhalese, thinks the leadership should be inherited or should be limited to a certain set, aka the high caste and Buddhist set. Those Singhalese are not open to changes.

Yeah, I think it's the nature, right? Wherever you go, you always find that the majority oppresses minority. Not even oppresses, but you know what I mean? In some things the majority has an unfair advantage. And people always get in groups, right? If we get a group of boys and girls, they always tend to be more with their gender groups. And also, you can look at these people who are trying to make a change and so-called activists, they are also gathering with the people that they share a common worldview, right? So they are grouping up with them and they are hoping that their ideology is adopted worldwide so they make the world what they want. So that's the same thing that a Buddhist or even Christians or Muslims or anyone is doing in the world that they are gathering in groups with common interests or common factors. And they are hoping for the best of that group and do the things that are best for their group. I don't think that's something we should be ashamed of or should try to change because it will not be possible to change cuz it's the nature.
