nope.. no need to combine those hindu gods to buddhism because there are some own gods related to buddhism. like Sumana saman dewi.And who says that the " gods" that you mentiond abnove ,does ruins the scientific approach of buddhism. comparison between buddhism and hondu ,in buddism we don't pray gods but hindus does.so how can gods ruin the spirit of Buddhism philosophy

who says that buddhist believe in gods..it is totally wrong.i know some "buddhists" expect lot of thing from gods. that may be a influence of hindu culture.but the real buddhists doesn't.Not only kataragama ,but lot of temples used to keep some photos of hindu gods beside the temple. but it is completely changed now. thanks to Soma thera.well kataragama is still doing their businesss.. and they are still not afraid of their gods power..

The link you posted is an Australian site, yes western countries has keen about Buddhism cz of concept no deities... Even People like Albert Einstein , Arthur C clarke & many scientists agree with most of the concept of Buddhist Philosophy
