හලාවත බිලි පූජාවට දැඩි මහජන විරෝධයක්‌

හේමන්ත රන්දුණු

හලාවත මුන්නේෂ්වරන් කෝවිලේ අද (25 වැනිදා) පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත මහා බිලි පූජාවට මහජනතාවගේ දැඩි විරෝධය එල්ල වී ඇත.

මෙම මහා සත්ව සංහාරයට එරෙහිව සත්‍යග්‍රහයක්‌ අද දින පැවැත්වීමටද ප්‍රදේශයේ භික්‌ෂූන් වහන්සේලා ඇතුළුව සත්ව හිංසන විරෝධී සංවිධාන කටයුතු කරමින් සිටිති.

මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් ප්‍රදේශයේ සංඝයා වහන්සේලා කිහිපනමක්‌ හලාවත පොලිසියේ පැමිණිල්ලක්‌ද කර ඇති අතර මෙම මහා බිලිපූජාව නතර කිරීමට අධිකරණයේ පිහිට පැතීමටද කටයුතු කරමින් සිටිති.

වසරක්‌ පාසා පැවැත්වෙන මෙම මහා බිලි පූජාවට එළුවන් 500 කට අධික ප්‍රමාණයක්‌ සහ කුකුළන් දහස්‌ ගණනක්‌ මරා දැමීමට නියමිතය.

සත්ව හිංසාව පිළිකුල් කරන බෞද්ධයන් බහුතරයක්‌ වෙසෙන ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ම්ලේච්ඡයන් මෙන් කටයුතු කරමින් මෙවැනි මහා බිලි පූජා පැවැත්වීම ඉතාම පහත් ක්‍රියාවක්‌ බව සත්ව හිංසන විරෝධී සංවිධාන පවසයි.
