You are assuming that the all the pedestrian in sri lanka should be well aware of the road rule!. That't never going to happen,

All the drivers should be well aware to the road rules,, it's must.
But all the pedestrian are not fully aware about the road rules, Lunatic people can cross the road, children can cross the road..

So it's drivers responsibility to be aware about the both side of the road, because a child, dog, can enter the road at anytime..
exception is highway which have a protective fence to prevent people and animal being enter to road accindently..

මම වෙන රටක ජීවත් වෙලත් තියෙනවා, අපේ ගොන්නුන්ගේ මානසිකත්වයත් දන්නවා.

පදිකයෝ කියන්නේ කිසිම නීතියක් පිළිපදින්න ඕනා නැති දෙයියෝ නෙවේ. උන්ට නීතියක් තියෙනවා පාරේ යන්නත්. අහවල් එහකට එහෙනම් දකුණෙන් යන්න, පාර පනිද්දී දෙපැත්ත බලලා පනින්න කියලා කියන්නේ?

තව කහ ඉරෙන් පනින්න කියන්නේ ඒක "priority crossing" එකක් නිසා. එහෙම නැතුව වෙන තැනකින් පනින්න ගිහින් හැප්පුනොත් පදිකයා තමා ඔක්කොම වාහනේටත් එක්කම අලාබ හානි ගෙවන්න ඕනා. තව ඒ මදිවට හිරේ යන්නත් වෙනවා ලොකු අලාබයක් නම්. හැබැයි අනිවා කහ ඉරක් ලගට අපි එනවා වත් කියලා ඒ driversලා දැක්කොත් ඈත ඉදන්ම වාහනේ නවත්තලා අපිට යන්න ඉඩ දෙනවා. එහෙම නැති උනොත් ඒකට උන්ට ප්‍රශ්නයක් වෙනවා පස්සේ security feed චෙක් කලොත්.

අපේ හරක්ව යට කරලා මට පව් පුරවා ගන්න ඕනත් නෑ, කාලේ කන්න ඕනත් නෑ. මම කොහොමත් කහ ඉරක් ගාව මිනිස්සු හිටියොත් වාහනය ස්ලෝව් කරලා බලනවා මුන් පනින්නද හදන්නේ කියලා. උන් පනින්න ලෑස්ති නම් දකුණට හෝ වමට සිග්නල් දාලා අනික් උන්ටත් නවත්තන්න කියනවා.

පාර පනින මනුස්සයා කොහොමත් වැරදි. ඒත් car එක එලවන පොරට තිබ්බා මේ අනතුර නවත්වගන්න.

කෙලින් පටු පාරක්, වාහනේ එන speed එක හොදටම වැඩි.
අනික පාරේ දෙපැත්තේම ගෙවල් කඩවල්, පොඩි එකෙක් උනත් පාරට පනින්න ඉඩ තියෙනවා. driver අවදානෙන් යනවා මදි.
මේ මනුස්සයා එක පාරටම පාර පනින් නෑ. Car එකට ටිකක් දුර ඉදන් එද්දිම පෙන්න ඕනේ මේ මනුස්සයා පාර පනින්න යන්නේ කියලා. එත් එහෙම දැක්කා කියලා පෙන්නේ නෑ.

defensive driving ගැන මීට වඩා අපි සැලකිලිමත් වෙන්න ඕනේ. Yellow light වැටුනම වාහනේ නවත්වන්න සුදානම් වෙනවා නෙවෙයි..වාහනේ නවත්වන එකයි කරන්න ඕනේ.

I'm driving for nearly 10 years now. No accidents have happened while i'm driving (some scratches here and there)* . I drive very recklessly to very defensively. So i can relate to every speeding to slow walking slug scenario.

I have a car, van and a motorcycle. So i know how to manage my and other's vehicle if i have the opportunity to drive. Driving doesn't come from books or from papers. It comes from experience. Rules are there for a reason and we have to obey that too.

When i'm a pedestrian, I obey and follow the pedestrian rules. that's smart thinking and being a responsible citizen.

every stupid cow and dog knows how to search internet for porn and come to facebook for hot new gossip but doesn't know how to cross the road? that is called neglection my friend. neglecting to being educate on how to travel on the road.

*scratches means me being trying to avoid vehicle pass on a narrow road etc.
