In fact, we were planning to visit there from last week, because that's the only place I have missed in the south east, but due to the development of Covid, had to cancel everything. Probably much safer had we managed to get there

Myanmar could've done better under military rule if not for the so called push for democracy by the West.

People in Myanmar are really friendly, and their food is much more healthier than ours. They enjoy life despite limitations. Myanmar youth still wear sarong as a fashion, and girls wear longies. Imagine the posh youth in Sri Lanka wear sarongs to Crescat, and that's happening there. They(sarong and lungy) are their school uniforms which shows how much they have still preserved their culture.

If you visit Myanmar don't forget to take brand new crisp dollar bills. Even a brand new bill with a pencil dot will be paid much less.

That maybe true (with reservations about how reliable Wikipedia is) but what I was talking about is that even Suu Kyii won her Nobel peace prize only because she supported the regime change course of the West. Today, she is in muddy waters with different kinds of sharks waiting to take a bite. She has to maintain good relations with the Army (who recently blocked a change to constitution that was supposed to clear her way to become president), and she has to win the hearts of the majority Burmese Buddhists. To do that she has to take a stand against the invading Bangladeshis thus incurring the wrath of the much more powerful Muslim world. And her stance, although for justice, defined her as a human rights violator thanks to the Muslims' money.
So first the regime change forces including Suu Kyi herself, and then the Muslim money, have been the causes of Burma's bad economy and lack of development.
