    Common sense says it wasn't true.
    There is no way a bunch of cars (12V DC) can make even a dent in power requirement. It wouldn't make a difference anyway either.

    The case was because of the power outage the cooling system not working at that moment. Reactor eka live giyata passe Nuclear fission eka digatama wenawa. Nuclear fission generates heat that needs to be cooled. so cooling pumps needed to be working. otherwise, the reactor overheats, and the remaining H2O break downs to H2 and O2 will make a perfect bomb. the only thing I am not sure is can car batteries power such huge pumps

    It;s true... because they needed DC power to power up the instrumentation. I have read about it somewhere.
