Message from Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera
I am in Geneva now. Yesterday got my self registered in UN under a name.of an NGO ( a London Buddhist Temple). There is only one temple here in Geneva which is registered in UN but at the last moment they refused to grant me permission. Because the Dayaka sabava main two people are Yahapalanaya fellows!!
Yesterday I was very sad to see how the LTTE men are organised for this event. The NGO’s are given only 90 seconds (one and a half mints ) to talk and there were five or six Tamils registered under 6 NGO’s and took turns and spoke blatant lies.
They said still the young Tamil women are kept as sex slaves in military camps, how the genocide is taking place, PTA should be repealed, 140,000 killed and still dying,armed forces control North with impunity, Tamil homeland etc etc
I am the only one here to talk about the real situ and that too our own Buddhist Temple deprived me of that chance!!
On 20th and 22 nd I am getting a chance to talk and my first task is to refer our document and table it officially.
On 20th there is a side event on ” report of Consultation Task Force and Human Rights Challenges in Sri Lanka”. There they are going to press the Int community to implement fully the HRC resolution 30/1
