• 19වන ශත වර්ශයෙදී විසූ සුප්‍රසිද්ධ ලේඛක එඩ්ගාර් ඇලන් පෝ(Edgar Allan Poe) The narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym නම් පොතක් රචනා කලේය.ඉන් කියැවෙන්නේ තමන් ගමන් ගත් නැව විනාශ වීමෙන් පසු බෝට්ටුවක නැගී ජීවිතය බේරා ගන්නා නාවිකයන් 4දෙනෙක් ගැනයි,දින ගනනාවකට පසු ආහාර හිග වූ නිසා ඔවුන් ඔවුන් අතර සිටි රිචඩ් පාකර්(Richard Parker) නම් වූ කැබින් කොලුවාව මරා ආහාරයට ගනී. වසර ගණනාවකට පසු 1884 දී Mignonette නැමති නැව අනතුරකට ලක් වූ අතර එයින් දිවි බේරා ගැනීමට සමත් වූවේත් නැවියන් 4දෙනෙකු පමනි. බෝට්ටුවේ දින ගණනාවක් ගත කිරීමෙන් පසු ඔවුන් අතරින් වැඩිමහල් 3දෙනා ඔවුන් සමග වූ කැබින් කොලුවාව මරා ආහාරයට ගත් අතර කැබින් කොලුවාගේ නම වූයේ රිචඩ් පාකරුයි(Richard Parker).
