Here is a detailed clarification of the current economic situation in the world, specifically in the USA, UK, Australia, and Canada:

    • USA: The US economy is currently experiencing high inflation, which is causing a decline in consumer spending and business investment. The Federal Reserve is raising interest rates in an effort to slow inflation, but this could lead to a recession.

    • UK: The UK economy is also experiencing high inflation, but it is not as severe as in the US. The Bank of England is raising interest rates in an effort to slow inflation, but it is not clear if this will be enough to prevent a recession.

    • Australia: The Australian economy is growing at a healthy pace, but inflation is starting to rise. The Reserve Bank of Australia is expected to raise interest rates in the near future, but it is not clear if this will be enough to prevent inflation from becoming a problem.

    • Canada: The Canadian economy is growing at a healthy pace, and inflation is relatively low. The Bank of Canada is not expected to raise interest rates in the near future, but it is monitoring the situation closely.
Here are some additional points to consider:

    • The war in Ukraine is causing disruptions to global supply chains, which is contributing to inflation.
    • The COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, and it is causing uncertainty in the global economy.
    • The US government is facing a significant budget deficit, which is putting pressure on the economy.
Overall, the global economy is facing a number of challenges, including high inflation, rising interest rates, and the war in Ukraine. It is too early to say how these challenges will play out, but it is clear that the global economy is entering a period of uncertainty.

Headline news this morning (08/06/23) is about a looming recession as early as 2024 in Australia.
It is possible, because all the ingredients are there. Labor party government, high inflation, rising interest rates all in there to make that happen.
