මගහැරුණු තවත් සිදුවීම් කීපයක්,

• 1977 අගෝස්තු - දෙමළ විරෝධි කෝලාහල
• 1979 - මහවැලි ව්‍යාපෘතිය කඩිනම් කිරීමේ යෝජනා සහ මහවැලි අධිකාරිය පිහිටවීම
• 1980 - දිස්ත්‍රික් සංවර්ධන සභා පිහිටවීම
• 1981 - දෙවන එළිසබෙත් රුජිණගේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා සංචාරය
• 1982 - "වගකීමෙන් ආර්ක්ෂා කිරීමේ පනත" මගින් 1977 අගෝස්තු මස තුල රජයට කවර හෝ ආකාරයකින් සම්බන්ධ/ උපකාර කල පාර්ශව සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපරා්ධ හෝ සිවිල් චෝදනා ගෙනු කල නොහැකි සේ විමුක්තිය ලබා දීම
• 1982 - ත්‍රස්තවාදය වැළැක්වීමේ පනතේ තාවකාලික ස්වභාවය ඉවත්කිරීම
• 1983 - විරෝදතාවක යෙදී සිටි විවියන් ගුණවර්ධණ අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන පහරදීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අධිකරණය පොලිස් නිලධාරියෙකුට දඬුවම් නියම කිරීම. එම දඩය රජය විසින් ගෙවා එම නිලධාරියා තනතුරින් උසස් කිරීම.
• 1987 - රජයේ ව්‍යාපාර ස්වාධීන සංස්ථා ලෙස පරිවර්තනය කිරීමේ පනත
• 1988 ජූලි - මරණ පරීක්ෂන හෝ විමර්ශන වලින් තොරව මෘත දේහ බැහැර කිරීමට පොලිස් නිලයන් වෙත බලය පැවරීම (Regulation 55 FF)
• 1988 දෙසැම්බර් - "වගකීමෙන් ආර්ක්ෂා කිරීමේ පනත" සංශෝධන කිරීම මගින් 1977 සිට මේ වනතෙක් රජයට කවර හෝ ආකාරයකින් සම්බන්ධ/ උපකාර කල සම්බන්ධ පාර්ශවයන්ට අපරා්ධ හෝ සිවිල් චෝදනා ගෙනු කල නොහැකි සේ විමුක්තිය ලබා දීම

Those were turning points, yes, but please don't let it be forgotten too. But I like to point out the current regime is wasting a similar turning point that have huge potential and can change our country's future, so learn from the past. Please criticize this government to persuade them to take appropriate actions. But so far I can see that they are wasting time. 1/15th of the current regime's time is already over.

Sri Lankas highest youth popopulation was seen in this period. Usually in a country when the youth population peaks, it also undergoes peak economic performance - eg earlier US,UK now India and China.

Unfortunately our politicians dragged this country to 30 years of civil war and two rebel uprisings - all of which purposely created to suite their agendas. Therefore, Sri Lanka "lost" the advantage of having a high youth population in the 70s and the 80s, which could have made it an economic power house in Asia, by killing its young population in war and civil unrest. Instead, our politicians and their sons and daughters decame stinking mega rich while we the middle class became dirt poor. This is what our politicians did to us - the 70 year curse

සිරිමා එලවල ජෙ-ආර් ගෙනාවෙ කන්න තිබ්බ නිසාද උට්ටො! පාන්-හාල්- රෙදි ගන්න පොලිමෙ මිනිස්සු ඉදියෙ! එ අස්සෙ ජෙප්පොත් රගපැවා.

හාල් සෙරු 2කකටව් වඩා පාරෙ ගෙනියන්න බැ! ගමකින් ගමකට ගෙනියන්න බැ! අහු උනොත් හිරෙ දානවා! පකක් කියොනවා!
