- රාජ්ය ඖෂධ නිෂ්පාදන සංස්ථාව විසින් මේ වන විට රෝග රාශියක් සඳහා ඖෂධ වර්ග නිෂ්පාදනය කරනු ලබන අතර, එම ආයතනය සහ අනෙකුත් පෞද්ගලික නිෂ්පාදකයින් විසින් දැනට මෙරටට අවශ්ය වන ඖෂධ ඒකක බිලියන 02ක් පමණ වාර්ෂිකව නිපදවනු ලබයි. එම ප්රමාණය වෙළඳපොළෙහි ඉල්ලුමෙන් 12%ක් සපුරාලීමට ප්රමාණවත් වන අතර, ඉතිරි 88%ක වෙළඳපොළ ඖෂධ අවශ්යතාව ආනයනය කරනු ලබයි. ඒ සඳහා වාර්ෂිකව ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 500ක් පමණ වැය කරනු ලබයි.
නිෂ්පාදනය කරනු ලබන ඖෂධ සඳහා යොදා ගනු ලබන සංයෝග සඳහා දැරිය යුතු පිරිවැයෙන් 70%ක් පමණ ක්රියාකාරි ඖෂධ මූලද්රව්ය (API) සඳහා වැය කරනු ලබන අතර එම ක්රියාකාරි ඖෂධ මූලද්රව්ය නිපදවීමේ යන්ත්රාගාරයක් ශ්රී ලංකාව තුළ පිහිටුවීම මඟින් ඖෂධ සඳහා වැය වන විදේශ විනිමය විශාල වශයෙන් රට තුළ ඉතිරි කරගැනීමට හැකියාව ලැබේ. ඒ අනුව, හම්බන්තොට ප්රදේශයේ අක්කර 200ක භූමි ප්රදේශයක් තුළ ක්රියාකාරී ඖෂධ මූලද්රව්ය සහ නිම කළ ඖෂධ සංයෝග නිපදවීම සඳහා ඖෂධ කලාපයක් පිහිටුවීම පිණිස සෞඛ්ය, පෝෂණ හා දේශීය වෛද්ය අමාත්ය (වෛද්ය) රාජිත සේනාරත්න මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
සූර්ය විදුලිබල ව්යාපෘති සඳහා ඉන්දියානු ණය පහසුකම් ලබාගැනීම
- සූර්ය විදුලිබල සංවර්ධනය සඳහා ශ්රී ලංකාව විසින් ලබා දෙනු ලබන ප්රමුඛතාවය අනුව ඉන්දීය රජය සහ ප්රංශ රජය විසින් සහාය ලබා දෙනු ලබන ජාත්යන්තර සූර්ය බල මිත්ර සංසදයට සහයෝගය දැක්වීමට රජය විසින් තීරණය කරනු ලැබ ඇත. 2018 මාර්තු මාසයේදී පැවැති එම සංසදයේ පළමු සමුළුවේදී ශ්රී ලංකාව විසින් එහි සාමාජිකත්වය ලබාගත් අතර, ජාත්යන්තර සූර්යබල මිත්ර සංසදයේ රාමුගත ගිවිසුමට අත්සන් කිරීම ද එහිදී සිදු කරන ලදී. ශ්රී ලංකාව විසින් එකී රාමු ගත ගිවිසුමට අත්සන් තැබීම සනිටුහන් කරමින් ශ්රී ලංකාවේ සූර්ය විදුලිබල සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන දියුණු කිරීම සඳහා ඇමරිකානු ඩොලර් මිලියන 100ක ණය පහසුකමක් ලබා දීමට ඉන්දීය රජය විසින් එකඟතාව පළ කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව, සූර්ය විදුලිබල සංවර්ධන ව්යාපෘති ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා ඉන්දියාවේ අපනයන හා ආනයන බැංකුව වෙතින් රුපියල් මිලියන 100ක ණය පහසුකමක් ලබාගැනීම පිණිස විදුලිබල, බලශක්ති සහ ව්යාපාර සංවර්ධන අමාත්ය රවී කරුණානායක මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
ඉලෙක්ට්රොනික හා විද්යුත් යන්ත්රෝපකරණ කර්මාන්තයේ නියැළී සිටින බහු ජාතික සමාගම් ආකර්ෂණය කරගැනීම
- විද්යුත් හා ඉලෙක්ට්රොනික කර්මාන්තය ගෝලීය අගය එකතු කිරීමේ සැපයුම් ජාලයට අවතීර්ණ වෙමින් පවතින අතර, ආර්ථික සහයෝගීතා හා සංවර්ධන සංවිධානයේ නිෂ්පාදන කර්මාන්ත වර්ගීකරණයට අනුව මෙරට ඉලෙක්ට්රොනික හා විද්යුත් යන්ත්රෝපකරණ කර්මාන්ත ක්ෂේත්රය මධ්යම - ඉහළ තාක්ෂණික හා ඉහළ තාක්ෂණික ඝනයට අයත් වේ. ඒ අනුව රථවාහන, විදුලි සංදේශය, පරිභෝජ්ය ඉලෙක්ට්රොනික භාණ්ඩ, කර්මාන්ත ස්වයංක්රීයකරණය, අන්තර්ජාල උපාංග නිෂ්පාදනය හා වෙනත් විවිධ අංශවල උපාංග නිෂ්පාදනය මීට අයත් වේ. මෙම ක්ෂේත්රයේ මෙරට කර්මාන්තකරුවන් ISO සහතිකය ලැබ අවශ්ය කම්කරු නීති රීති හා රෙගුලාසීන්ට යටත්ව කටයුතු කරනු ලබයි.
මෙරට පර්යේෂණ හා සංවර්ධන මූලාකෘති තුළ සිටින ආරම්භක සමාගම් නවෝත්පාදන හා නව නිර්මාණ බිහි කිරීමේ නිරතව සිටින අතර, ඒ සදහා මෙම සුළු හා මධ්ය පරිමාණ ව්යාපාරයන් විශාල සමාගම් සමඟ ඒකාබද්ධ වීම අත්යවශ්ය වී ඇත. ඒ අනුව ශ්රී ලංකාවේ මෙවැනි ව්යාපාර ආයතන බහු ජාතික සමාගම් සමඟ ඒකාබද්ධව කටයුතු කිරීමට පහසුකම් සැලසීම සඳහා බහු ජාතික සමාගම් ආකර්ශණය කරගැනීමට කටයුතු කිරීම පිණිස සංවර්ධන උපායමාර්ග සහ ජාත්යන්තර වෙළඳ අමාත්ය මලික් සමරවික්රම මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
ප්රාදේශීය කර්මාන්තපුරවලින් කර්මාන්ත පිහිටුවීම සඳහා ඉඩම් කොටස් වෙන්කර දීම
- ප්රාදේශීය මට්ටමින් කර්මාන්ත ප්රවර්ධනය අරමුණු කරගනිමින් ප්රාදේශිය කර්මාන්තපුර සංවර්ධන වැඩසටහන ක්රියාත්මක කරනු ලබයි. ඒ යටතේ ප්රාදේශීය මට්ටමින් පිහිටුවා ඇති කර්මාන්තපුරවල ආයෝජනය කිරීම පිණිස සුදුසු ආයෝජකයින් හඳුනා ගැනීම ප්රාදේශීය කර්මාන්ත සේවා කමිටුවල නිර්දේශ මත සිදුකරනු ලැබේ. ඒ අනුව එසේ තෝරාගෙන ඇති ආයෝජිකයින් 25දෙනෙකු හට වසර 35ක බදු පදනම යටතේ හෝමාගම, කළුතර, මිල්ලෑව, කුරුවිට නාලන්ද එල්ලාවල, ඇඹිලිපිටිය, ගලිගමුව, මඩකලපුව, ත්රිකුණාමලය, අම්පාර නවගම්පුර, පොළොන්නරුව ලක්ෂඋයන, කරන්දෙණිය, උඩුකාව, උලපනේ, පුත්තලම යන කර්මාන්තපුරවලින් ඉඩම් කොටස් වෙන්කරදීම සහ ප්රාදේශීය කර්මාන්ත සේවා කමිටුවේ නිර්දේශ පරිදි දැනට කර්මාන්තපුරවල තම කර්මාන්ත සිදුකර ගෙන යන ආයෝජකයින්ගේ ව්යාපාර නාම සංශෝධන, නව එකතු කිරීම් සහ කර්මාන්තවල වෙනස්වීම් යනාදිය සිදු කිරීම පිණිස කර්මාන්ත හා වාණිජ කටයුතු, දිගුකාලීනව අවතැන්වූ පුද්ගලයන් නැවත පදිංචි කිරීම සහ සමුපකාර සංවර්ධන අමාත්ය රිෂාඩ් බදියුදීන් මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදියේ වෑකන්ද ප්රදේශය ප්රති-සංවර්ධනය කිරීම
- කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදියේ වෑකන්ද ප්රදේශයේ අක්කර 47ක පමණ (හෙක්ටයාර 19.4ක) ප්රදේශයක 'නවම්පුරය' යනුවෙන් නම් කර ඇති ප්රතිසංවර්ධන වැඩසටහනක් ක්රියාත්මක කිරීමට යෝජනා වී ඇත. යෝජිත ප්රදේශයේ දළ වශයෙන් ඉතා කුඩා නිවාස ඒකක 1,200ක් පමණ පිහිටා ඇති බැවින් ඒවායේ සංවර්ධන කටයුතු සිදු කිරීමේ යම් යම් අපහසුතා මතුවේ යැයි හඳුනාගෙන තිබේ. ඒ අනුව අදාළ ප්රදේශයේ ඉඩම් අයිතිකරුවන්ගේ සහභාගිත්වය සහිත ක්රමවේදයක් යටතේ ඔවුන් වෙත ප්රතිලාභ ලැබෙන පරිදි කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදියේ ඇතුළත නගර ප්රදේශය ප්රති සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා වන නවම්පුර ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම පිණිස ප්රතිපත්තිමය අනුමැතිය ලබාගැනීම සඳහා නිවාස, ඉදිකිරීම් සහ සංස්කෘතික කටයුතු අමාත්ය සජිත් ප්රේමදාස මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
මන්නාරම් කොටුව සංවර්ධනය කිරීම
- විදේශ සංචාරකයින් ආකර්ශණය කරගැනීමේ අරමුණින් මාතර, හම්බන්තොට, මඩකලපුව, ත්රිකුණාමලය, මන්නාරම සහ කල්පිටිය ප්රදේශවල පිහිටා ඇති පැරණි බලකොටු 06ක් පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව හා පෞද්ගලික අංශය හා එක්ව සංවර්ධනය කිරීම පිණිස 2018 වර්ෂයේ අයවැය මඟින් යෝජනා කරන ලදී. ඒ අනුව මන්නාරම් කොටුව සංවර්ධනය කිරීම සඳහා ව්යාපෘති යෝජනාවක් පුරාවිද්යා දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව විසින් සකස් කරනු ලැබ තිබේ. ඒ යටතේ සිදු කළ යුතු ප්රධාන කාර්යයක් ලෙස හඳුනාගෙන ඇති එම කොටුව වටා පිහිටි දිය අගළ හෑරීම එවැනි කාර්යයන් පිළිබඳ ප්රවීනත්වයක් දක්වන ශ්රී ලංකා ඉඩම් ගොඩකිරීමේ හා සංවර්ධනය කිරීමේ සංස්ථාව මඟින් සිදු කරගැනීම පිණිස සංචාරක සංවර්ධන, වනජීවී සහ ක්රිස්තියානි ආගමික කටයුතු අමාත්ය ජෝන් අමරතුංග මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.
මධ්යම පළාතේ විසල් දඹුල්ල ජල යෝජනා ක්රමය මඟින් දඹුල්ල සහ කන්ඩලම ප්රදේශ සඳහා ජල සැපයුම දීර්ඝ කිරීම සඳහා කොන්ත්රාත් ප්රදානය කිරීම
- පළාත් පාලන වැඩි දියුණු කිරිමේ ආංශික ව්යාපෘතිය යටතේ වන උප ව්යාපෘතියක් ලෙස ක්රියාත්මක වන මධ්යම පළාතේ විසල් දඹුල්ල ජල යෝජනා ක්රමය මඟින් දඹුල්ල හා කණ්ඩලම ප්රදේශ සඳහා ජල සැපයුම දීර්ඝ කිරීම සඳහා වන කොන්ත්රාත්තුව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් පත් කරන ලද ප්රසම්පාදන කමිටුවේ නිර්දේශය පරිදි රුපියල් මිලියන 565.39ක මුදලකට ස්කොයා මෙක් ඉංජිනේරු පුද්ගලික සමාගම වෙත පිරිනැමීම පිණිස අභ්යන්තර හා ස්වදේශ කටයුතු සහ පළාත් සභා හා පළාත් පාලන අමාත්ය වජිර අබේවර්ධන මැතිතුමා ඉදිරිපත් කළ යෝජනාව අමාත්ය මණ්ඩලය විසින් අනුමත කරන ලදී.

Sri Lanka set to transform Colombo port into smart port
COLOMBO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- Sri Lankan Ports and Shipping Ministry on Monday said it has taken steps to modernize information technology at the island's Colombo port to transform it into a "smart port" with automated functions to improve efficiency.
In a statement, Ports, Shipping and Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayaka said the government had allocated Rs. 929 million rupees (about 5.18 million U.S. dollars) towards this project and he expects the process of IT upgrades to streamline terminal management and cargo systems to be completed within the next 12 to 18 months.
The initiative will include using satellite-based positioning systems which provide improved location accuracy to make the best use of container handling equipment within port terminals and increase productivity.
It will also include business intelligence tools, web portals and simulation tools, Ratnayaka said.
Transforming Colombo port into a smart port is a timely need, he added.

Resus Energy to invest Rs.1.3bn in hydro and solar projects
The renewable energy developer, Resus Energy PLC is to invest Rs.1.3 billion in a couple of hydropower and solar power projects during this year, the company said in a media statement.
The company said these projects have been structured with focus to generating renewable and sustainable energy, combining the latest tech and an environmentally responsible business proposition.
The investment earmarked for the two hydropower projects in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya is Rs.1 billion. The Upper Huluganga Hydro Project in Huluganga, Kandy, estimated to cost Rs.400 million, is expected to generate 1.9MW in contribution to the main national grid.
The Karapalagama Project, located in the Nuwara Eliya District, costing Rs.600 million, is set to generate 2.7MW to the national grid.
Resus Energy will additionally invest another Rs.300 million in utility-scale solar power projects in the Ampara District. The Resus Eastern Solar Power Project is estimated to generate 1MW each from the two power plants, to be attached to the Ampara sub-station.
“We are humbled and take great responsibility in our continuous and successful efforts in hydro and solar power generation operations across the island. We wish to emphasise on our unwavering focus on harnessing sustainable energy but not at the expense of our environment.
Our current major ventures in terms of projects for 2019/20 in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Ampara Districts will be the direction in which efficient energy extraction and sustainable tech will take us in the future,” Resus Energy PLC Managing Director Kishan Nanayakkara said.
Having already completed many hydropower extraction projects in the recent past, Resus Energy PLC contributes about 35GWh of electricity to the national grid.
Resus Energy PLC has fully functioning hydro and mini hydro plants in Thalawakale, Theldeniya and Maliboda that generate a total of 11.1MW.
In the last two years, Resus Energy PLC was able to complete two hydropower projects – one in Daraniyagala, costing Rs.300 million and the other in Kandy, costing Rs.400 million, contributing 1.2MW and 1.5MW to the national grid, respectively.

Sri Lanka's Flagship Project Colombo Port City Receives ISO 9001:2015 Certification For Quality Management System
CHEC Port City Colombo was awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification for the Quality Management System (QMS), adopted by the project company, the company said in a statement.
The certification given by internationally recognised testing entity, TÜV SÜD PSB, who has 40 years of expertise in helping organisations achieve business excellence, covers the Project Management, Administration and Supervision aspects of the project.
Michael Chiam, Director - Capital Operation and Deputy CFO of Port City Colombo who spearheaded the certification process commended the efforts of the implementation team for their hard work in preparing the certification audit as well as implementing the quality management system. “After going through the ISO certification audit over the last week of November 2018, we have now been officially conferred with ISO 9001:2015 certification. Many thanks for the hard work and perseverance of everyone, particularly the leadership given by our Managing Director, Mr Jiang, in achieving this standard.”
Chiam added that whilst looking forward to applying the QMS which they had implemented to every future aspect of the project, the implementation process had been a learning experience for everyone. “Each individual department has setup, reviewed, revised and/or standardized their respective operational processes and procedures in order to self-review and self-detect issues that may come up. This is done with a view towards continuously improving themselves.”
The Deputy CFO says that the system of continual improvement encourages a higher degree of leadership commitment and a significantly greater staff engagement as they seek better ways to achieve work objectives. “This means we as the project management company, have committed to provide a higher level of management, administration and supervision of the Colombo Port City overall.”
Managing Director of Port City, Jiang Houliang said that achieving the ISO quality certification at the initial stages of the project is a further testament to the international standards that would be applied in the construction and maintenance of Port City.
“Our commitment towards quality management is proof of the high standards we apply to every aspect of our operations. This certification is an important signal to every one of our associates, suppliers and future developers, that we are committed towards achieving the highest levels of compliance and standardization for the benefit of all. We will continue to uphold uncompromising quality at all levels of our operations.”
