අර්ජුන මහේන්ද්‍රන් පිළිබඳව ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්‌ටමෙන් සියලුම ගුවන්තොටුපළවලට දැනුම්දීම නිසා ඔහුට රටින් රටට පැන යැමට නොහැකි අයුරින් ආරක්‍ෂක කටයුතු පුළුල් කර ඇති අතර අර්ජුන මහේන්ද්‍රන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමේ වගකීම ජාත්‍යන්තර පොලිසිය භාරගෙන ඇතැයි ද එම ආරංචි මාර්ග හෙළි කළේය.

මහ බැංකු අධිපතිවරයා ලංකාවට ගෙන්වා ගැනීමට අවශ්‍ය කටයුතු කරමින් තිබෙන බව ඊයේ (08දා) පැවැති මාධ්‍ය සාකච්ඡාවකදී ඩිලාන් පෙරේරා මන්ත්‍රීවරයාද සඳහන් කර සිටියේය.

ICF unveils Sri Lanka Railways diesel-electric multiple units

SRI LANKA: The first of six 13-car diesel-electric multiple-units which Indian Railways’ Integral Coach factory is building for Sri Lanka Railways was unveiled at the manufacturer’s plant in Chennai on November 12 .

The order was placed with ICF and RITES under an India-Sri Lanka economic co-operation agreement. It covers a total of 78 coaches of five types intended for short and medium distance travel on non-electrified routes.

Each of the units will have two driving power cars with an 1 800 hp engine, IGBT convertors, three-phase transmission and also four economy class seats. There are two driving trailer cars in each set each with 60 economy class seats, plus two air-conditioned chair cars with 52 rotatable seats and infotainment systems, two business class chair cars with 64 unidiectional bucket seats equivalent to first class in suburban trains, and five economy class coaches with 90 cushioned bench seats equivalent to second class seating in suburban trains.

The 20 m long car bodies and interior fittings are made from stainless steel to provide corrosion resistance for operation on coastal routes. The bogies and underframes are painted to inhibit corrosion, and inter-vehicle electrical connections meet IP67 standards to prevent water ingress during heavy rain. The outer ends of the driving vehicles have aerodynamic steel front ends, AAR autocouplers and side buffers. Braking systems were supplied by Knorr-Bremse, and the units have remote monitoring equipment.

ICF said features include ‘plush’ interiors, GPS based passenger information systems with LCD screeds and LED lighting. The flooring comprises sound proof cork sandwich board with halogen-free rubber. The cabs include digital displays, comfortable adjustable seats and fire detection and alarm systems.

The cabs and guard’s compartment are air-conditioned, while passengers areas have oscillating fans. The driving motor cars have toilets for the crew, and the trailer coaches have passenger toilets. The driving trailer cars have accessible toilets, and there are three wheelchair spaces.

ශ්‍රී ලංකා දුම්රිය සේවය වෙනුවෙන් යොදා ගැනීමට නියමිත M11 දුම්රිය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට රැගෙන විත් තිබේ. මෙම දුම්රිය එංජිමද ඉන්දියාවේදී ශ්‍රී ලංකාව වෙනුවෙන් නිපදවා තිබේ. මීට පෙර ඉන්දියාවේ නිශ්පාදය කළ S13 බලවේග කට්ටල දුම්රියද පසුගියදා ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ගෙන්වීය.

1990 Suwa Seriya islandwide roll out continues!
1990 සුව සැරිය දිවයින පුරා දියත් කිරීම අඛණ්ඩවම ඉදිරියට

No matter what is happening in Parliament we are continuing with the island wide roll out of our ‘1990 Suwa Seriya’. Starting today and over the next few days we are launching in the Central Province; Kandy, Nuwera Eliya and Matale districts. අවාසනාවන්ත ලෙස රට දේශපාලන අර්බුදයකට ලක්වී තිබුණද 1990 සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථ සේවය ශ්‍රී ලංකාව පුරාම දියත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන අඛණ්ඩවම ඉදිරියට රැගෙන යාමට අප තීරණය කර තිබෙනවා. පක්ෂ පාට බේදයකින් තොරව ජීවිත බේරාගැනීම සඳහා අප විසින් දියත් කර තිබෙන මෙම මෙහෙයුම මගින් සමස්ත ශ්‍රී ලාංකේය ජනතාවට ප්‍රතිලාභ ලැබෙන බව මම මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කරනවා. මේ අනුව, ඉදිරි දින කිහිපය තුළදී මහනුවර, නුවරඑළිය සහ මාතලේ දිස්ත්‍රික්කවල ජනතාව වෙනුවෙන් සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථ සේවය ආරම්භ කිරීමට අප කටයුතු කරනවා.

The top photo shows the new look 4x4 units for the tough mountain terrain in several parts of the Central Province. with 41 units in CP we now have 230 units operating in 7 provinces. Sabaragamuwa and East will have the service in the next couple of months.

The bottom one gives the latest analytics of the service; 115,618 admissions to critical and emergency care with just 13:13 minute response time. Needless to say we are extremely proud of 1990 Suwa Seriya, which has proven to be almost world class; we shall improve further in the coming months.

Our immense gratitude to PM Modi and the people of India for USD 23m gift that has enabled this islandwide rollout. Many thanks to High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandhu and his staff in Colombo.

My special thanks to Chairman 1990 Suwa Seriya Dumi Ratnayake and the entirely voluntary Board, including Vijaya Malalasekera, Sandya Salgado, Prof Asita de Silva and ex-officio secretaries of Finance and Health along with IGP, for guiding the operation in these volatile times. My gratitude to his absolutely dedicated team of now close upon 1,500 totally Sri Lankan young men and women for making this service perhaps the most appreciated and most efficient government service introduced in recent times.

I am so glad we were able to get the 1990 Suwa Seriya established as a fully government owned entity by Act of Parliament this August with not a single objection. Already the Government takes care of all operational costs of the service in Western and Southern provinces and over a period during next year the entire cost of the island wide service.

ඉහළ ඡායාරූපයේ දැක්වෙන්නේ කඳුකර ප්‍රදේශවල ධාවන කටයුතු සඳහා නිර්මාණය කර තිබෙන සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථයක්. මේ වනවිට, පළාත් 07 ක සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථ 230 ක් ක්‍රියාත්මක කර තිබෙන අතර ඉදිරි මාස කිහිපය තුළදී සබරගමුව සහ නැගෙනහිර පළාතේ මෙම සේවාව ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට අප සැලසුම් කර තිබෙනවා.

පහළ ඡායාරූපයේ දැක්වෙන දත්ත මගින් පෙන්නුම් කරන්නේ මේ වනවිට මෙම සේවාව මගින් පුද්ගලයින් 115,618 ක් රෝහල් ගතකර තිබෙන අතර දුරකතන ඇමතුම දුන් අවස්ථාවේ සිට රෝගියා වෙත පැමිණීම සඳහා වැයවී තිබෙන්නේ විනාඩි 13 කුත් තත්පර 13 ක් වැනි සාමාන්‍ය කාලයක් පමණයි. මෙම සේවාව කෙතරම් කාර්යක්ෂමදැයි මේ තුළින් පෙන්නුම් කරනවා.

සුවසැරිය සේවාව වෙනුවෙන් සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ස්වේච්ඡාවෙන් වැඩකරන එහි අධ්‍යක්ෂ මණ්ඩල සාමාජිකයින් වන දුමී රත්නායක මහතාට, විජය මලලසේකර මහතාට, සන්ධ්‍යා සල්ගාදු මහත්මියට, මහාචාර්ය අසිත ද සිල්වා මහතාට සහ මෙයට සම්බන්ධ වී සිටින මුදල් අමාත්‍යංශයේ, සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යංශයේ නිළධාරීන්ටත්, පොලිස්පතිතුමාටත් මා මේ අවස්ථාවේදී ස්තූතිවන්ත වෙනවා. එසේම, මෙම අසමසම සේවාවේ සේවය කරන 1500 කට ආසන්න තරුණ පිරිසගේ කැපවීම මා මේ අවස්ථාවේදී ඉහළින්ම අගය කරනවා.

පසුගිය අගෝස්තු මාසයේදී පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ සම්මත කළ පනතක් මගින් සුවසැරිය ගිලන් රථ සේවාව සම්පූර්ණයෙන් රජයට ආයතනයක් බවට අපි පත්කළා. මේ අනුව, මෙම සේවාවේ සම්පූර්ණ මෙහෙයුම් වියදම් රජය මගින් දරනවා.
