We dont have a safety net like most other countries have, if you fail at your business its not easy for you to find a job, this is why most educated people never try to their own business (and this will create less business/companies for the country, less jobs overall) .. one of the main reasons why Sri Lanka is still a developing country.

I can understand what you are trying to say. Financial education (I mean at least personal finance management) is something that every one should have regardless of what other type of higher educational qualifications you have. I have seen many young professionals from various disciplines getting into rat race when they start their careers. Just as they start making money with a job, they would buy a nice car, start building a big house - but all on loans; then a better part of the salary is automatically spent on repaying loans. then there is no look back, you are stuck in a roll - living from one pay check to another. This can also be a reason why most professionals do not try to start their own businesses. They just cant take the risk of new business development as cant live without a fixed salary for too long. I was also in this trap for sometime and it took me a while to get out of this. Its good you are teaching this stuff to others.
