You guys are dodging my question. Okay, here in Sri Lanka, certain prices are determined by the competition. You can check the rice prices. It was more than 200 rupees during the Gota's fertilizer debacle; now, with the abundance of fertilizer, the production has become normal, and with the competition, the prices have gone to 150 rupees (normal raw red rice).
But there are other instances where the competition does not work, such as bus fares and fuel prices. If you carefully check, all these have to adhere to government rules and prices, hence no benefits from the competition.
