Well,

this on-going hype about social networking and websites has been a problem child in my mind for a long time now, especially with the peer pressure I've been having personally to join these stuff (no need to mention names of the sites, you already know).

So, why are people tempted to join these? many would answer that its the best way to keep in contact with friends and relatives etc no matter where they are, for cheap. True. Infact that was one of the primary motives of it. Atleast for some time. Well, if thats the case, why do people add even their next door neighbor or their closest class mate they literally see every day onto their friends list?

Moreover, the use of these sites are vastly varying now, and in my perception, this is creating big time problems to the society, ethnicity, economy,demography, peace of a country, and many more.

I feel this level of social networking ought to be capped. Further points and ideas are many and more. Just too lazy to type right now.

Yes, thats the change that this wave is bringing into the society. Let me take a simple example, just recall, how would a marriage be arranged back then? Or how would a boy and a girl meet and fall in love and get married? Its very different to whats happening nowadays right? People who've met online, fallen in love online and even got married, such example are in plenty these days, even within sri lanka.

Also, this social networking has brought unknown territory to one person much accessible, but not close enough, which leads to dire need of it in case of an attractive one. Same case with people, we may meet new friends, get to know them all online, but never even seen, they maybe just next door, but we never know.

A life - confusing thread? How? Who was stupid enough to take something like that on the internet so serious? But then again, this is a by-product of excessive internet usage, social networking etc. because the majority of people are stupid, and moreover unaware of the right and wrong.
