Sri Lanka Cricket has banned portable horn/’hooters’ to be brought in by spectators to cricketing venues with immediate effect. SLC Executive Committee arrived at this decision today to generally safeguard spectator comfort inside spectator areas of the stadium.

This does not mean that the papare bands are banned. These are individual horns brought in by the spectators. We will be implementing this rule on Wednesday at the 3rd ODI in Hambantota, SLC said in a release.

The general public are warned that the Security Personnel will search for the above items very strictly and will confiscate the item if found on the spectator.

● Cook suspended for slow over-rate
England captain Alastair Cook has been
suspended from the fourth one-day
international against Sri Lanka for a slow over-rate.
Cook was banned by ICC Match Referee
David Boon following England's five-wicket
victory against Sri Lanka on Wednesday night in Hambantota where the tourists were ruled to be one over short "after time allowances were
taken into
consideration".


Cook was suspended for one match and
fined 20 per cent of his match fee while his teammates were fined
10 per cent of their match fees.
"As Cook had
previously been found guilty of a minor over-rate offence in ODIs
within the last 12 months, this offence
constituted his second minor over rate offence
for the purposes of the
ICC Code of Conduct,"
the International Cricket Council said in a
statement.


Eoin Morgan will
captain England in
Cook's absence in the
fourth ODI of the series
in Colombo on Sunday.
