There are new tests but can be costly.
One of the recent ones is named PAC-MANN, (Protease activity-based assay using a magnetic nanosensor) which uses a small blood sample (approx 8 ml) to detect changes in protease activity — a key indicator of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, or PDAC, the most common and deadly form of pancreatic cancer.
This test can distinguish patients with pancreatic cancer from healthy patients and those with non-cancerous pancreatic issues 98% of the time. It also helped spot early-stage cancer with 85% accuracy when used along with the CA 19-9 test.
There are other tests like GalleriTM which can diagnose 50+ cancer types (includung pancreatic) with a single drop of blood.
Search through my previous posts on how the above test works. I had a separate post on this test.. It uses DNA. Briefly DNA in cancer cells carry cancer-specific signals; tumors shed this DNA into the blood. Multi-cancer early detection testing looks at blood samples for DNA fragments and their cancer-specific signals to identify cancer and where that cancer signal originated in the body.
