3g modem problem in ubuntu

mchn man gawa safaricom 3g modem 1k tiyanawa. eka ubuntu 10.04 wala wada karanne na. kohomada meka hadaganne. help me macho..............

First setup a new mobile broadband connection via network manager in ubuntu giving details such as access point. After its created ull be automatically connected when u plug in da dongle. But if u r have installed ubuntu inside windows, then u have to plug the dongle when u r operating on windows and then restart to ubuntu. (Dont know the exact reason. but thats how it works.lolz )
