where u want 2 b
just said:
first thing i should clearly say is i agree 100% with you on this.the most important point from where we should see this is what you have stated here.
  • we all have our line somewhere: there are two extreme ends, cover head to toe and ware virtually nothing at all (yes i do think its extremism too, not sure why ppl dont notice it as much as other one:confused:). now between both this points people find their own "modest to dress like this" point.but disagree among themselves to com into a standard. (for your info even my wife and me disagree on interpretations and sometimes have dialouges abt this, obvioisly as the person doing it she's concerned mo but generally we agree )
now wat islam has done is given that standard (ok at this very moment i hope i wasnt label as brainwashed as well ;)). i accept it for these reasons
  • although we all agree there should be a limit, there are no other instances i find where a common set of instructions found like this. if you have then show me ill consider for sure:yes:.
  • but again if u say it cannot or shouldnt be a standard like that. then you definitely will leave one option to your son/daughters uncurrupted innocent minds in future one day.thats naked women (and men) doing their sick stuff in tv, road, movies, web etc everywhere in the name of freedom and you just have to watch your precious child drowning into this helplessly..(you must be knowing incest is common word already in the society now, a son looking at his mom in such a sickening way )
i have no personel grudge with you, but again and again im sticking to my stance cos. theres no time left for this. you can say we cant have bedroom stuff in public television. but thats exactly happening in light speed.

now i know this is being told to u over and over again. but since its something to do with your personel freedom you'll always take a defensive stance.

what im telling you is NOT TO ACCEPT THIS AND FOLLOW IT,NO WAY: but to educate yourself on this.

  • first islam doesnt say like cover from head to toe (this is what they show in FOX and CNN for obviouse reasons )
  • islam prohibits killing of innocent people.
  • so dont judge a religion by few extremists, not only islam but any other religions (refer here for more about this )
again when someone says find about a religion first thing comes to mind is ok now im gona be brainwashed.

so its upto you as a concerned future mom, to check wat you can do to contribute towards a safer future for your child...

but all what i ask you is please dont put down a hope, that i can have atleast to secure my childrens future when all this sick stuff get out of grip and start crushing innocent childrens lifes in the name of "freedom", becouse of few haters comments and few extremists acts, that are more highlighted than the majority.

thanks

i agree with u... so do u let ur wife wear wat she wants tho?
one thing i DO NOT DO is judge a religion. i have no problem against any single religion in this world, so dont take it that way, as i told teenstar in another post, my best friend is muslim. i would never judge a person for their beleifs. now i do sometimes get shocked or surprised or evn dumbfounded on some things that people do, like when i went to sri lanka the first time it was a complete culture shock to me, especially when they told us not to drink cold water u know simple stuff like that is just beyond me. BUT. i would never judge a person by wat they beleive in cuz i wouldnt want to to be judged for wat i beleive in. i sometimes think, about all different religions, wat all the different people beleive in and i would never give up on my faith, but i think a person sometimes wonders, wat if none of them are real even, wat if we are all holding on to a false hope. who is to say thatone religion is better than another? its not! thats wat the word faith is all about, u dont know wat is there, but u have faith, and some peoples faith is more stronger than others.

now im not calling anyone brainwashed here, i was looking at all the arguments and the comments and saw some people saying muslims are brainwashed this and that watever watever, i was having lunch yesterday by the world trade centers (where they used to be) and i couldnt eat my lunch by looking around and just imagining wat it looked like right where i was sitting on that day, and imagining wat the hell i would have done if i had seen a 757 crash into a buiolding i would have had a heart attack on the spot! i was talking to my husband, i said to him... WHY????? why would someone do that, that is my question for all terrorists acts of the world. WHY??? my husband said to me one simple word that i saw alot of sinhala peole on this thread say ..."BRAINWASHED". i do beleive that those men who are bin ladens little entourage are absolutely brainwashed. to me they dont see Allah as their God, they see bin laden as their God... he is the one who told them that this is Allahs way... this is the way to get into heaven. yes they were told that. that is brainwashing there. and i beleive that they are also very vulnerable, they want so badly to follow Allah, and they will take these words, to kill innocent people b.c someone who claims to know wat Allah have said that it will get them into heaven. and i dont agree with that i wish they wouldnt follow that word, just to me its just like the ltte, these leaders BRAINWASH the followers into killing themselves giving them false hopes and false words, but why dont these leaders do it themselves? why dont bin laden do his dirty deeds on his own rther than getting these followers to do so by telling them wat Allah supposedly said? why dont that fat ass prabhakaran do his own suicide bombings rather than getting someone else to do them??? bc they know that they are liars and that doing so wont get them anywhere! thats what i mean when i say brainwashed in my point of view... those examples are no questions about it : brainwashed!

hope u understand wat i just wrote and dont think im talking about all muslims, cuz im not. im talking aout the terrorist groups al queda, ltte all brainwash these people into thinking for doing such work will get them into heaven :( thats ashame

oh and as for the part about finding out about a new religion and people thinking that they will be brainwashed, that is stupid, anyone who thinks just learning about a new religion will be brainwashed then they are sooooo stupid. u know, i was born a christian and ill be christian til the day i die, unless tehre is proof that there are no such thing as "religions", BUT im so into other religions, i love other cultures, i love knowing wat they beleive in and the whole 9...... one religion ill say to u, i DO NOT LIKE hasidic jews. for real. i dont know wat their beleifs are, but there are alot of them here where i live, and i had to be in the hospital room with one after i had my baby, they are such nasty people, they have to worst attitudes and they FREAKIN STINK! no lie! i will say i do not like them for those reasons. that is a whole nother story but if anyone like to know just ask me.

if a person is strong enough in their beleifs to explore other religions, but stick to ur own religion, that is so great, and the way it should be. peole are way too easily influenced, just like the al queda group for example and the ltte. there is nothing wrog in getting to know other religions.

Of course i do, but i should be frank here. first when i'm choosing a wife i did check if she can go with values in my life (and you know whats my stance in dressing). nevertherles she wasnt wearing like i wanted but she had more important qualities in more priority area's so we liked and we agreed to disagree in some points that were minor.

but now basically we dont have an issue cos we have understanding and she does like to wear like i think and agree mostly (still we disagree in some points..;))

all other points of yours i agree:

Terrorists should be treated as terrorist, but shouldnt be generalised..

Terror Acts and Killing innocent people in the name of fighting terror both should be Condemn same way...

A "conspiracy" theory is all it is, not a proven fact. And until such, Muslim terrorists are held accountable. What about those muslim thugs who hijacked and flew the planes? Were they paid for by the US government?
More importantly, why did we hear about many reports from all over the world on muslims taking over to the streets to celebrate the incident?

Besides a History channel special debunked all the conspiracy theories regarding 9/11, and it was pretty damn convincing to me.

And who in their right mind cites from a website such as wikipedia? The information available on wikipedia is added on by individuals like you and I. It is hardly the type of source you'd expect to be taken seriously.

oh yeah???
so all of those video tapes from bin laden are fake?? is that bush dressed like a muslim talking about killing us??? tell me now??? so the united states paid these muslims to kills us??? u need help honey, if u cannot remember, that is not the first time bin laden attacked the world trade centers..... he was usucessful the first time. was that americans who have been arrested numerous times for attempting to blow up flights from london to u.s?? if u think THAT then u have been brainwashed urself.... thats bullshit, and no wikipedia is NOT proven facts. if u cannot remember one wrestler, i forget his name, he killed his wife and his son, before he even killed himself it was written on wikipedia that he had killed himself. EVERYDAY PEOPLE WRITE THAT. if there is some hard evidence please do show me, but not from wikipedia.

p.s.
if it is an inside job and the united states government is trying to kill its own people, we all would have been dead a long time ago, because they can do wat they want when they want and dont have to plot something as stupid as this bin laden joker to fly planes into buildings and then hde like the little faggot that he is.

oh and i guess wat the muslims had posted on their websites, killing our soldiers by beheading them isnt real to right??? wonder if that was also bush. maybe it was the whole bush family???

well that is good! cuz i dont agree with any one person telling another how they can and cannot dress. its good that u both have an understanding and have come to an agreement.

i have big problems with how alot of women are treated in this world, and someone i once was close to told me somethingvery nasty when he would get mad at me he would say "oh u want to be a man blah blah blah" i say to that, no, but today women do and should have the same rights as a man. yeah he was a big fat joke, a little punk ass, who is violent and sexist an a womanizer and im glad that today i see that... which is another reason why i will always fight for wat i think is right and stand up when need be. this is the same guy who told me that if i was in sri lanka, he would take a hammer and crush all my fingers and then murder me and cut me into peices, and then kill my children and then kill himself..... a man who didint want to hear that i was in control of myself, but a man who wanted to be my leader, my GOD, my controller. hahaha. people like this is why i am the way i am.... im glad ur not that way, and that ur wife has the freedom and the opportunity to get a chance to have the experience of being a woman :)

MUAH love u all!! :)

Are Muslim women oppressed?

Among the many topics of interest to non-Muslims, the status of Muslim women and the theme of their rights -- or rather, the perceived lack of them – seems to be foremost. In fact, Islam condemns oppression of any kind whether it is towards a woman or humankind in general.

The Quran is the sacred book by which Muslims live. In chapter 33, entitled Soorah Al-Ahzaab (The Clans), verse 59 Allaah The Exalted Almighty Says (what means): "O Prophet, tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to bring down over themselves (part) of their outer garments. That is more suitable that they will be known (as free respectable women) and not be abused. And ever is Allaah Forgiving and Merciful." [Quran 33:59] This verse shows that Islam makes wearing a Hijaab necessary. Hijaab is the word used for covering, not only the headscarves (as some people may think) but also wearing loose clothes that are not too bright.

When Muslim women cover their hair and wear loose clothes, they are obeying the orders of their Lord to be modest, not cultural or social mores. The lives of the people who responded to the Quran have changed drastically. It had a tremendous impact on so many people, especially women, since this was the first time that the souls of man and women were declared equal -- with the same obligations as well as the same rewards.

For the first time in history, women were granted economic independence in Islam. The money they bring in to marriage is theirs as well as the money they earn. In Islam, women are allowed to choose their own husbands and in extreme cases, ask for divorce. A woman has the right to be educated, contrary to what the contemporary world might think. The responsibility is that of the person who is raising her. The Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Seeking knowledge is mandatory for every Muslim (male and female)." Men and women both have the capacity for learning and understanding. Since it is also their obligation to promote good behaviour and condemn bad behaviour in all spheres of life, Muslim women must acquire the appropriate education to perform this duty in accordance with their own natural talents and interests.

While maintenance of their homes, providing support to the husband and bearing, raising and teaching children are among the first and very highly regarded roles of a woman, if she has the skills to work outside the home for the good of the community, she may do so. However, this is allowed only as long as her family obligations are met and as long as she complies with the Islamic code of dress and conduct, with no intermingling with men in the workplace.

Islam recognizes and fosters the natural differences between men and women despite their equality. Some types of work are more suitable for men and other types for women. God will reward both genders equally for the value of their work, though it may not necessarily be within the same sphere of activity.

The two great roles a woman plays in life are that of a wife and a mother. The Prophet (Pbuh) , once said to a group of Companions (Pbuh): "The best among you are those who are the best to their wives." This shows that Islam highly encourages treating the wives well. They should be shown love, respect and care. To foster the love and security that comes with marriage, Muslim wives have various rights. The first of the wife's rights is to receive mahr, a gift from the husband, which is part of the marriage contract and required for the legality of the marriage.

The second right of a wife is maintenance. Despite any wealth she may have, her husband is obligated to provide her with food, shelter and clothing. Concerning motherhood, the Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam, said: "Heaven lies under the feet of mothers." This implies that the success of a society can be traced to the mothers who raised it. The first and greatest influence on a person comes from the sense of security, affection and training received from the mother. Therefore, a woman having children must be educated and conscientious in order to be a skillful parent.
A man came to the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam, and asked: "Who among my kinfolk is worthy of my good companionship?" The Prophet (Pbuh) replied: "Your mother" three times before saying: "Your father." This indicates the impact that a mother has in a person's life. So women are highly honoured in this great religion. Islam is a religion that treats women fairly. The Muslim woman was given a role, duties and rights 1400 years ago that most women do not enjoy even today in the West. These rights are from God and are designed to maintain a balance in society; what may seem "unjust" or "missing" in one place is compensated for or explained in another place. [From: Al-Jumu'ah Vol. 14]
