The Abrahamic influenced worldview that man has ‘custodial status’ so far as the Earth and all its goods are concerned has contributed substantially to civilization lurching from crisis to crisis with no end in sight.

Buddhism offers hope and generous living for mankind. It is a great healing spiritual force but yet unfortunately still outside the framework of global politics.

The helplessness of Buddhists and those outside the Abrahamic tradition to influence the course of global events is the greatest tragedy of our day and age.

In a critical analysis one of Sri Lanka's leading public affairs commentators R. Chandrasoma in an article published today ( November 17, 2012) in the Lankaweb (Website) ponders whether the USA's First Buddhist Senator - elect Mazie Hirono would expound the Buddhist world view ' while sitting ‘cheek-by jowl’ with Presidents and Prime Ministers of the Western Imperium that currently steer planetary affairs', and in turn call for the need for a fundamental re-think of Abrahamic notions that underpin global rule and the global chaos that we witness today.
